Chimpanzee treks in Rwanda start before dawn in Nyungwe, Africa's oldest montane rainforest, or the quieter trails of Gishwati-Mukura. Trackers locate the community at first light, then guide you through the forest for an hour among our closest relatives. Most itineraries add the Nyungwe canopy walkway and a drive through the tea country of the southwest.
